Is there anything better than sparking up a blunt and listening to Purple Haze? Amir Obè thinks not. That’s why, on his first feature since dropping the moniker “Phreshy Duzit” in favor of his birth name, the Brooklynite draws inspiration from Cam’ron‘s early-2000s classic, Killa Cam. On this standout of his newly-released independent LP, Obè delivers melodic verses dedicated to a few of his favorite things—including the combo of Cam’ron & Drugs and the company of beautiful women. NYLZ provides a hazy instrumental sampled from the aforementioned Dipset classic’s Heatmakerz-produced beat. Like what you’re hearing? More awaits on Amir’s Detrooklyn LP, available now online.
