Last week, rising rap star Angel Haze got the ball rolling on her Noizy Cricket!!/Universal Republic debut album with the release of lead single Echelon (It’s My Way). Though the record didn’t find its way onto our pages, this freshly-minted remix by DJ/producer SOHN was simply too dope to pass up. In place of Marcus Drav‘s chaotic, trap-informed grooves, the Viennese beatmaker crafts a more majestic, slow-burning synth soundscape. Club heads need not worry, though—SOHN’s hi-octane rhythm section, combined with Haze’s hype, braggadocious bars, make for a remix that’s every bit as danceable as the album version. Dirty Gold has yet to receive a spot on the label release calendar, but we’ll keep you posted on the project as further details emerge.
