Ashanti ft. French Montana & Meek Mill - No One

None (Promo Single)

Some girls will put up with endless bullsh*t from their man before deciding to cut ties—particularly if that man is able to keep them living in the lap of luxury. Not Ashanti. As she makes crystal clear on her latest single, No One does the veteran R&B songstress dirty and gets away with it. The singer’s first Booth feature since December 2011, when she returned to the scene with eOne debut single The Woman You Love, this fresh promo single finds Ms. Douglas reminding fans of her comeback bid-in-progress as she emphasizes just how seriously she takes her relationships. Pulling no punches over longtime Murder Inc. collaborator Irv Gotti‘s hip-hop infused beat, she issues her disloyal dude an ultimatum: “You actin’ like you’re scared to commit to this / I though I told you I ain’t every other chick. / You gotta understand who you’re dealin’ with, ‘cause I ain’t gonna stay puttin’ up with this.” Ubiquitous guest rhymers French Montana and Meek Mill gamely play the clueless guys (Wait… is she going out with both of them?) on the front and back, the former using his material wealth as a lever, and the latter offering his inborn playerism as an excuse for his bad behavior. Sounds like both are destined to be kicked to the curb—which only means she’ll have more time to cater to her hungry fanbase. Though it has yet to be determined whether this record will be featured on the project, those who like what they’re hearing can keep it locked for further tunes leading up to the release of Braveheart in late 2012/early 2013.
