With the 2012 NFL regular season kicking off tonight [please insert your raucous cheers here], Toronto rapper Aspektz’ latest single, which is fittingly titled Gametime, couldn’t have come at a better time. As expected Gametime is a welcoming, celebratory record which features the Canadian spitter dropping rhymes about overcoming the odds. On the production side of the equation is fellow Toronto native and beatsmith Triple A, who laces the record with an energetic and slightly electro-inspired audio backdrop. Fans of Aspektz may have a slight wait before the emcee’s upcoming Academic Probation 3 project is released in December, but in the meantime those in Canada will be able to check out Aspektz’ Gametime video when it premieres on Music Music/MTV next week.
