The Black Sunn ft. 810 - Black Serenade [Premiere]

Featuring:
Producer:
Damu the Fudgemunk
Album:
Sol Parables EP

The Black Sunn has been coming with a stream of Booth-praised tracks lately, and to add to his collection of microphone onslaughts, we’re now presented with one of Sunn’s most lyrically realistic tracks, Black Serenade. Over a coarse melody and gritty beat, Sunn half-humorously tells us about the struggle to get paid (and make sure your money is your business).  With a guest feature from fellow Baltimore native 810, who lays down a verse captivating enough to have some doubting its spontaneous development (”This verse wasn’t rehearsed at all…”), and spot-on production from frequent collaborator Damu the Fudgemunk (which sounds like a hip-hop version of The Doors to me), Serenade achieves what it was crafted to do: hold our attention. Serenade should tide impatient listeners over until the release of Sunn’s DJBooth.net-hosted EP Sol Parables due out on February 25.  In the meantime, feel free to marvel over this talented emcee’s skills so that you’re not entirely caught off guard when the EP drops.
