Blackbear - I Needed You

Posted 2 years ago
Producer:
Sango

Last we heard from Blackbear, the Golden State alt-R&B buzzmaker was pondering whether he and a certain woman would become lovers, or stay Just Friends, on a reader-approved promo single. Of course, there was a third possibility that he may not have wanted to consider at the time: she could choose “neither,” and leave him high and dry at his most vulnerable moment. Unfortunately, freshly-released follow-up I Needed You suggests that she went with option C. Over a hazy, reverb-drenched industry instrumental by Sango, the singer expresses his hurt and loneliness in falsetto-laced verses. On the back, he switches gears to deliver a risqué rapped 16. Like what you’re hearing? Then stay tuned; this promo cut isn’t attached to a larger project, but we’ll keep you posted on Blackbear’s plans as further details emerge.
