Bruno Mars - It Will Rain

Album:
The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part I

If you’re a teenage girl, or a teenage girl at heart, get ready to make a high-pitched shriek of joy (all others, get ready to cover your ears): the latest single off the Breaking Dawn Part 1 soundtrack has just dropped, and helming the record is none other than pop heartthrob Bruno Mars. Done? OK, on to the song itself. On It Will Rain, the Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter steps into the role of sparkle vampire Edward Cullen, agonizing over his seemingly impossible love for leading lady Bella Swan. Backed by The Smeezingtons’ appropriately cinematic, string-drenched production, Mars broods over the many obstacles in their way: “I’ll never be your mother’s favorite, your daddy won’t look me in the eye / If I was in their shoes I’d do the same thing, sayin’ ‘There goes my little girl, walkin’ with that troublesome guy.’” Aw, Bruno, don’t be so hard on yourself! Will this single fulfill its intended purpose and make Twilight devotees (I promised myself I wouldn’t use the word “Twihard”—wait… sh*t.) weak in the knees? Debate away. Fans will be able to pick up the full soundtrack LP when it hits stores Nov. 8, paving the way for the film’s arrival in theaters on November 18.
