Bryant Dope - Champion Sound

Posted 3 years ago
Producer:
Hannibal King
Album:
New New York

On classic ‘95 single Sound Bwoy Burreil, Smif-N-Wessun‘s Tek threw down a gauntlet in front of sucker emcees everywhere, taunting, “You can’t test the Champion Sound, you gettin’ bucked down.” Borrowing a title (and a sampled hook) from those bruising lines, Queens native Bryant Dope showcases his own victorious style on the lead single off his next street album. Booth approved beatsmith and frequent K. Sparks collaborator Hannibal King handles the boards, crafting a chopped-and-looped keyboard beat to back Bryant as he invites us to feat our eyes upon “...the future of rap.”  Can Dope put this one in the “wins” column? As always, Booth readers get the final say. If you approve, watch our pages for further details on the emcee’s New New York street album, which has yet to be assigned a solid drop date.
