Buddy ft. Pharrell - As Far As They Know

Posted 4 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Pharrell Williams
Album:

Based on our limited sampling of his music thus far—namely, promo single Staircases and mixtape cut Inspired—I think it’s safe to conclude that Buddy is a talented rhymesayer with the potential to do big things in the game. Still, we’ve got a lot to learn about the 17-year-old rap buzzmaker. On As Far as They Know, the latest release off his next street album, the West Coast denizen plays up the ambiguities in his persona: “...I’m a backpacker who knows trap-rappers and 11 MAC-packers.Star Trak boss Pharrell once again mans the boards, slicing and dicing his new signee’s lyrical self-portraiture over a bed of springy synths and syncopated percussion, as well as stepping out from behind the boards to deliver a sung hook. Itching to learn more about Buddy? More awaits on Idle Time, scheduled for digital release in the near future.
