Chris Batson - Tomorrow Will Be Better

We Got Lost Along The Way

On mixtape single They Don’t Know, featured earlier today, San Diego rhymesayer Blame One reflected on the difficulty of choosing between the diverse, often mutually contradictory dogmas in the religious marketplace, ultimately choosing to pursue a more personal path to salvation. Booth newcomer Chris Batson‘s latest single, Tomorrow Will Be Better continues the theme of crises of faith, depicting the artist’s struggles with the long-debated problem of evil. Here, the producer, singer, songwriter and rapper showcases the full range of his musical talents. Over his own understated boardwork, featuring a delicate piano loop layered over punchy hip-hop percussion, the Magic City buzzmaker asks, “How much suffering with God allow?” In his flowed closing verse, he rejects the idea that a loving god would cause his creations pain, just to test their moral mettle. Complete with some candid official visuals courtesy of Christian Padron, this thought-provoking jam is just the beginning of the fresh material to be found on forthcoming mixtape We Got Lost Along The Way. Keep it locked for the latest on the set, which currently lacks a drop date.
