Clinton Sparks ft. Riff Raff - Stay With You Tonight

Clinton Sparks
Album:
Disco Ball & Chain

Featuring 2 Chainz, Macklemore and Chester French‘s D.A. Wallach going in over stomp-clap percussion and fuzzed-out guitar, Clinton Sparks‘s Gold Rush was one of the most unconventional hits of 2013. Follow-up single Stay With You Tonight is lighter on the guest features, but shares its predecessor’s unpredictable, genre-bending appeal. Fans of The Clash will quickly recognize this joint as an homage to Should I Stay or Should I Go; the song’s iconic riff has been replaced with one in a minor key, but the percussion rhythm and the call-and-response structure of Sparks’ verses are clear callbacks to the ‘81 hit. Just when you’re getting used to the record’s retro, punk-infused vibe, H-Town eccentric Riff Raff busts in with a verse that features him, “cuttin’ coke on a table with a swordfish.Stay With You was released to iTunes today via Island Def Jam/Photo Finish Records. The album to which it’s attached, Disco Ball & Chain lacks a drop date, but fans can keep it locked for the latest release details.
