CunninLynguists ft. J-Live - Beyond the Sun

Posted 2 years ago
Producer:
Kno
Album:

CunninLynguists have long maintained that they hailed from the American South, but now it seems that was simply a cover story. On their latest single, the underground trio remove their human masks to reveal themselves as voyagers from somewhere Beyond the Sun, on an interstellar mision in search of intelligent life. Over crew member Kno‘s instrumental, driven by vocal samples and delicately picked strings, he and his colleagues share their impressions of our home planet. As wise extraterrestrials are wont to do, they express their disappointment in humanity, shaking their heads at our misuse of technology and our tendency to turn a blind eye to widespread “misery and suffering.” They also take time out to dispel a popular myth about their kind: “Used to be my favorite tourist spot, I loved the pyramids. / Now you wonder if I built ‘em?” Complete with guest bars from Albany’s J-Live, Beyond the Stars is just one of many lyrically-driven bangers to be found on Strange Journey (Volume Three), dropping April 1, via APOS Music.
