Dave B - He Got Game

School Daze

If Dave B were a NBA player he would be Jesus Shuttlesworth. Okay, so he isn’t an actual basketball player, but since his new DJBooth premiere is entitled He Got Game I can’t think of a better comparison. Giving him an audience (which is much better than that of his Hollywood father, Jake Shuttlesworth) are producers Justo and Kam Boogie, who create a breezy beat that has the finesse and ease of a finger roll. Dave B’s performance atop the feel good production is a slam dunk. He harnesses a confidence and casual flow and uses it do deliver his clever bars that, naturally, are full of basketball references.  The result is an impressive yet fun effort. The He Got Game author also got a new project in the works; School Daze is due out May 6. While you wait for tip-off, why not warm up with his last Booth spot, Boathouse?
