DeeJay Element
Reality Kings & Reason

Later this week, Brown Bag AllStar and DJBooth regular DeeJay Element will be flying to Miami to compete as one of three finalists in Complex and McDonalds’ Flavor Battle contest. Before leaving town, though, he wanted to give his hungry fanbase a little something to whet their appetite for his forthcoming debut solo album. On the project’s newly-released lead single, Complex Individuals, the producer recruits three underground colleagues to deliver verses over his laid-back guitar loops and boom-bap percussion. Sene, ScienZe and The Audible Doctor live up to the record’s name on the lyrical tip, lacing the beat with intricately-flowed reflections on everything from music and the paper chase to religion and parenting. Reality Kings & Reason is set to drop digitally tomorrow, February 5. Fans can tune into 9:00 PM EST this Friday to watch live as Element competes with fellow Flavor Battle finalists DJ Arty J and DJ Jena Red for the $10,000 grand prize.
