Denzel Curry - N64

Nuri x POSHstronaut

At first glance, the latest effort from Denzel Curry might evoke some fond memories of racing on Koopa Troopa Beach and saving Princess Peach but, in reality, the cut is just a tad too dark for Mario and his Nintendo 64 brethren; N64 is more likely named after the artist’s forthcoming EP, Nostalgic 64. As Nuri x POSHstronaut‘s lurching production crawls along, piercing your eardrums with all sorts of effects and randomized sounds, the Florida native gives an equally unique performance on the mic. The recent Coachella performer employs an aggressive, free-associative flow as he broaches topics such as Batman, Casey Anthony, and Trayvon Martin. If you’re craving more against-the-grain tunes, watch our pages for the latest on Curry’s as yet-unscheduled Nostalgic 64 EP.
