D.Prince - Loser

Album:

I’m a Loser baby, so why don’t you kill me?” Beck Hansen may have been kidding when he sang the line in the chorus of his breakout single but, for school-aged victims of bullying, not fitting in can indeed be a matter of life and death. On his latest promo single, making its world premiere on our front page, Long Island rhymesayer D. Prince hooks up with producer DJ 5 Alive to put a timely spin on the 1993 hit. Over the record’s iconic slide-guitar backdrop, the Fresh Vetz member paints a portrait of a high-school outcast with no one to turn to. The final verse is dedicated to a different character: a teenage girl whose permissive parents set her on the path to self-destruction. With the help of this thought-provoking jam, Prince hopes to publicize Friend Movement, an organization dedicated to spreading positive anti-bullying images through art and media. The cut isn’t part of a larger project but, needless to say, fans can keep their browsers locked for the latest from D. Prince.
