Futuristic ft. Dizzy Wright - In the Rain

Posted 3 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
AKT Aktion
Album:
None (Promo Single)

As his stage name suggests, Futuristic‘s focus is on the road ahead. That forward-looking orientation, however, doesn’t stop him from channeling some soulful, retro vibes on new single In the Rain. AKT Action, the beatsmith behind May’s DUH, showcases a very different side of his production style here, flipping a sample from 21st Century’s Remember the Rain into a melancholy backdrop for verses expressing Futuristic’s nostalgia for a simpler time. Funk Volume signee Dizzy Wright reflects on his adolescence in an emotionally-charged middle verse. Matt Johnson provides some moody visuals to complement the emcees’ bars. While this poignant joint isn’t attached to a larger project, those feeling it will get the chance to get up-close and personal with the collaborators come fall, when they strike out on The Golden Age Tour.
