Gilbere Forte - The Awakening

Posted 3 years ago
Producer:
RAAK
Album:

Despite the heavy exposure Gilbere Forte’s received in The DJBooth, I suppose it’s possible that some people are still sleeping on him. If you happen to be one of these somnolent souls, it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee; now that the Philly-by-way-of-Flint spitter’s inked a deal with Epic Records, his name is going to be in your ears whether you like it or not. On new single The Awakening, his first release as a major-label signee, the artist reflects on the personal and financial hardship he’s weathered in order to make it to his current position of power. His poignant bars come backed by the atmospheric synth-sample production of frequent collaborator RAAK. Along with its moody, stylized visuals, this record serves as the official trailer for new street album PRAY. Keep it locked for the latest on the project, set to drop May 15, via the artist’s official site.
