Deliver Us From Evil

With his new EP just a day away from release, Oklahoma City rhymesayer Jabee is back to stoke the flame of anticipation with one last single off the project. On PLVYVHVT3 (That’s “Playa Hate,” for those not fluent in fake Latin), follow-up to the DJBooth-premiered Penny For Your Thought/Sarayu Rao, project co-headliner Thelonious Martin sets a laid-back mood by way of a jazzy, sampled rhythm section. The instrumental’s mellow vibe carries over to the lyrics; Jabee foregoes the hard-hitting political commentary of his last feature in favor of a more playful style, and guest Kool AD, as usual, manages to spit fire while sounding like he just rolled out of bed. Feeling it? More hot beats and witty bars await on Jabee and Martin’s Deliver Us From Evil EP, dropping Tuesday for free digital download.
