Jay Electronica ft. LaTonya Givens - Better in Tune With the Infinite

Jay Electronica‘s reclusiveness has earned him plenty of flak from hungry fans as well as detractors. And it’s hard to blame ‘em; the man shows his face less often than Punxatawney Phil. While it’s easy to be frustrated with the glacial pace at which he releases new music, the situation is, of course, too complex to toss blame around lightly. On Better in Tune With the Infinite, his first song release (not counting guest features) in years, the Louisiana native offers fans a little insight into the many factors, both psychological and external, that have affected his hustle. Kicked off with twin samples from speeches by Nation of Islam founder Elijah Muhammad and The Wizard of Oz‘s Professor Marvel, the record finds Jay pouring out his frustrations over Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto‘s Bibo No Aozoro instrumental. LaTonya Givens provides guest vocals. According to iTunes, this joint is attached to the artist’s (very) long-awaited Roc Nation debut, Act II: Patents of Nobility (The Turn), but the set still lacks a solid drop date. Guess you’ll just have to keep your browsers locked for the latest details.
