Jern Eye - The Happening

In M. Night Shymalan’s 2008 film, The Happening, a series of neurotoxin attacks that cause humans to commit suicide en masse are revealed to be the work not of foreign terrorists, but of disgruntled plants. (Sorry if I spoiled it, but considering the movie’s RottenTomatoes score, I’m probably doing you a favor.) The premise of Jern Eye‘s new single, also titled The Happening, is much less convoluted and absurd: a Los Angeles buzzmaker delivers raw and uncut lyrical flames… yeah, that’s pretty much it. In addition to starring in the show, Jern mans the mixing boards, backing his no-nonsense verses with a simple, yet effective sampled rhythm section. This promo cut isn’t part of a larger set, but those feeling it should stay tuned for more from the artist as he solidifies his plans for 2014.
