Jimmy Johnson - Sun Goes Down

Posted 2 years ago
Producer:
Eric Dingus

After living through the 90’s, I thought that the only notable occurrences at night were Gargoyles coming alive and vampires roaming the dark skies. Well OVO‘s Jimmy Johnson is here to add to that list. In the Tristan Prime-directed video for his single, Sun Goes Down, Jimmy is surrounded by his “extended” family as he raps about avoiding all the BS and putting on for his crew over the mellow production work of Eric Dingus. I can definitely see the similar sound Jimmy shares with Drake on this promo single, which makes me think, “Heir to the OVO crown?” But that’s a long way off. This marks Johnson’s second Booth feature, following March’s PRAY. He also just released his In God We Trust mixtape a few short weeks ago.
