Jon Bellion - The Wonder Years

Translations Through Speakers

Upon seeing the title of Jon Bellion’s new video single, The Wonder Years, I was hoping for an ode to Winnie Cooper, but then I soon realized that the early 90’s TV show went off the air when Bellion was only a one year old. Still, the singer’s latest is just as heartfelt as an episode of the TV show with which it shares its name. Bellion crafts an airy beat, based around a snapping, subtle beat-box, over which he reminisces about good times like taking shots with his friends at their local bar or watching his niece playing in the yard. The carefree production is the perfect fit for Bellion’s own effervescent, breezy vocals. I would even argue they go together just a swell as Winnie and Kevin. You can find The Wonder Years, Bellion’s Booth debut, on his album, Translations Through Speakers, available for free download later this month.
