Jon Connor ft. Royce Da 5’9” - Michigan Sh*t

Brix
Album:

The Great Lakes State may not boast the same quantity of hip-hop talent as New York or Cali but, pound for pound, their forces rank with the best in the country. (I’m excluding Insane Clown Posse from my calculations as an outlier.) For evidence of the prodigious skills of the local rhymesayers, and their fierce loyalty to their state, look no further than Jon Connor‘s latest street single, which finds him teaming up with one of Motown’s most renowned street lyricists to deliver some raw and unfiltered Michigan Sh*t. Here, Brix’ chopped flute/vocal samples and jittery percussion set the mood as the headliner delivers aggressive bars dedicated to his city, ‘hood and clique. Slaughterhouse member Royce Da 5’9” lends his jaw-dropping double-time flows to verse one. Feeling it? Michigan Sh*t is just one of many bangers to be found on Connor’s Unconscious State LP, dropping June 4, via iTunes.
