Ladies and gentlemen, I’m not exaggerating when I say you’ll have the Time of Your Life listening to Kid Ink‘s latest single. Just, kidding, that’s actually a gross exaggeration—unless your life to date has been so lackluster that listening to a dope record would be an all-time highlight, in which case… I’m sorry. Unrealistic expectations aside, though, fans of smooth hip-pop sounds won’t want to pass up this cut, the latest single off the Los Angeles native’s forthcoming debut full-length. Backed by Ned Cameron‘s intricately-layered synths and slow-rolling, handclap-laced percussion (accented with the obligatory background ‘Ay!‘s), the Get Into the Moment emcee helps an comfortable female make the best of her situation. Doing his best to allay her insecurity, he croons: “You ain’t gotta leave, my bad I know this ain’t usually your scene / But don’t worry ‘bout it, girl just be yourself, and I swear I ain’t gon’ say a thing.” Feeling this smooth, pop-appealing selection? Don’t touch that dial; Kid Ink’s currently-untitled The Alumni Music Group debut has yet to receive a drop date, but we’ll keep you supplied with all the latest news and tunes.
