Kidd Upstairs - Ashin in My Cup

Kidd Upstairs
DMNDS Deluxe

At the bottom of January, The Kidd Upstairs earned rave DJBooth reviews for DMNDS, a club-ready ode to ladies of the unapproachably beautiful variety. If you were able to get together with a few of those rare specimens, it would seem crazy to cover up their faces with animal masks, but that’s exactly what the Cali emcee/producer does in the off-kilter video (directed by Adam Stanzak and Dennis Paredes) for mixtape bonus cut Ashin in My Cup. The record itself shares the visuals’ eerie vibe; over his own sinuous synth backdrop, Kidd describes a hedonistic, liquor and drug-fueled evening that rapidly spins out of control. The deluxe edition of DMNDS is scheduled to drop digitally on Tuesday, February 18. Click here to pre-order the forthcoming set on iTunes!
