Kyle Rapps - Black Suburbs

Posted 3 years ago
Producer:
Belief
Album:

Kyle Rapps may have come up in generally well-off Princeton, New Jersey, but his early life wasn’t all polo matches and crudités. Just the opposite, in fact—the future rapper and his family were broke, and the affluence surrounding them only underscored their lack of advantages. On new single Black Suburbs, premiered today via Noisey, Rapps spits about the experience of “being a poor kid in a rich town,” and a racial minority to boot. Belief provides an understated instrumental backdrop for Rapps’ bars, and Jared Soule directs the record’s official visuals.
