The Most Known Nobody

It’s been a month since Mayo last dropped by The DJBooth, but don’t get it Twisted; he hasn’t forgotten about us. To show us how much he really cares, the Chi-Town rhymesayer’s made his latest single an exclusive world premiere. Echoing Keith Sweat’s ‘96 cut of the same title, this bittersweet jam finds the emcee addressing a woman from his past. Though he insists he’s not wasting time pining after her (“The only time I see you: when I’m goin’ through a flashback.”), the emotion in his bars says otherwise. Bobby Grant assists on the guest tip, jumping on Nova‘s low-key synth beat to deliver an understated hook. Fans will be able to find this cut, the previously-featured Lifestyle and much more on Mayo’s The Most Known Nobody EP, dropping digitally in the near future.
