Mike Melinoe - Starving Marvin

Posted 2 years ago
Producer:
Ocean Green
Album:
Daze N.A. Day

Since the beginning of time rappers have reminded their audience about their hunger for success. Take Mike Melinoe for example. His stomach is growling so much, we might as well call him Starving Marvin. For many artists it just sounds good, but you can actually hear the hunger in Melinoe’s voice on this exclusive DJBooth premiere. With an unwavering, loquacious flow the Detroit native devours the dripping, off-kilter beat from Ocean Green. Though his lyrics seem to spill out of his mouth (giving the song an abstract, stream-of-consciousness vibe), there is still something so surgical and razor sharp about his delivery, making this effort more unique than a first glance listen might suggest. Unlike his last Booth feature spot, Steady Vibe (featured earlier this month), Starving Marvin is an inclusion on Melinoe’s free album, Daze N.A. Day, out now.
