UPDATE: “Schup” is no longer available to stream.

Whether you spot Mike Schpitz at the bank, on the street or at a show, don’t hesitate to holler “Schup!” The Kansan-born, Chicago-based rhymesayer always has time for his fans. That is, except when he’s in the company of one or more fine females, in which case you should leave him to his business. On his latest mixtape single, making its world premiere right here in the DJBooth, Schpitz lets listeners know just how much he values their support, but asks that they kindly refrain from disrupting his game. INTLMC mans the boards, backing the artist’s self-assured bars with clipped vibraphone chords and a leisurely, head-noddable rhythm section. The Prize Package Volume 2: Live From the Blap Cave is scheduled for free, digital release via The DJBooth before summer’s end. In the meantime, of course, we’ll keep you supplied with the latest song releases off the forthcoming set.
