Mr MFN eXquire ft. Gucci Mane - Telephuck

Featuring:
Producer:
El-P
Album:

Mr. MFN eXquire may be new to our pages but, surprisingly enough, the recent Universal Republic signee isn’t particularly interested in telling us about himself. Instead, on the lead single off his major-label debut EP, the NYC indie phenom wants to introduce us to, “a b**ch named Telephuck.” Def Jux heavyweight and frequent collaborator El-P works his magic behind the mixing boards,  layering exotic, swirling synth arpeggios over an insistent percussion rhythm as eXquire puts a surreal lyrical spin on the “rapper as pimp” archetype. Gucci Mane only adds to the insanity in his closing verse, managing to name-drop Hamburger Helper in the process of elucidating his stone-cold approach to the hustle. Feeling it? You can expect plenty more eclectic bangers where this cut came from on Power & Passion, scheduled to hit record stores and online retailers November 16.
