Album:
Somnolence

I know, I know: y’all are sick to death of restlessly-creative, genre-defying A-Town hopefuls. Oh? You’re not tired of that? Well, damn, that’s convenient—because today, another fresh ATL singer/songwriter makes his Booth debut. On newly-leaked mixtape cut Dear Heartbeat, unsigned R&B artist Muzi takes inspiration from English electronic trio Darkstar. Over a pensive synth-piano instrumental borrowed from the group’s cut of the same title (off 2010 debut full-length North), the up-and-comer showcases a uniquely understated vocal style, exhorting his battered and bruised heart to pull together and keep him going for a little while longer. A veteran of eclectically-chill bangers like this one, longtime Booth fave and freestyle series alum Novel tops it all off with some lightly-Autotuned chorus and backing vocals. Has this moody banger left you intrigued? Then keep it locked—Shoden!1 Presents: Somnolence has yet to receive a release date, but you’ll be the first to know when that changes.
