Dream Everything Vol. 1

Phive‘s last Booth feature, EP single Madiba, found frontman Afika Nxumalo paying lyrical tribute to Nelson Mandela and other political freedom fighters. The newly-released follow-up tackles a topic that’s not quite so serious or emotionally charged, but similarly near and dear to the North Carolina quintet’s hearts: big ol’ butts. On Rave Booty, Nxumalo proudly proclaims himself an ass-man—a trait which, he claims, goes hand in hand with his African DNA. The Graduates back the crew’s sung and rapped vocals with a grinding electronic groove expressly designed to set female posteriors in motion. Feeling it? Then keep your browsers locked for more fresh cuts leading up to the January 14, 2014 release of Phive’s Dream Everything Vol. 1 EP.
