Normally songs about money are made to be enjoyable while riding to or dancing in the club and come equipped with a speedy, clap heavy beat. On Steady Chasin’, Milwaukee emcee Proph flips the script. While the record is most certainly money centered, it gives off a different vibe, thanks in-part to solid boardwork from producer Hart Gunther. Gunther cooks up an ambient, spacey production and leaves out all the bells and whistles that usually anchor a moola grab anthem. It’s not just the track that is different either; instead of earning guap to cop expensive diamonds and luxury brand cars, Proph wants to make his money to support those close to him, a lesson his father taught him. Steady Chasin’ is the latest single off of Proph’s forthcoming untitled album, which is slated to drop early next year.
