Pugs Atomz - Faded [Premiere]

Jay Vega
Summertime Chi (Compilation Project)

Are y’all sitting down? Good, because this may come as a bit of a shock: despite what the record’s title may suggest, Faded,  the latest leak off beatsmith Jay Vega‘s forthcoming mixtape, is not about weed in any way, shape or form. With that said, those who do partake in the herb definitely won’t regret flipping on this mellow joint (a Booth-exclusive world premiere!), which finds Vega cooking up an unbelievably chill, bell/saxophone-driven instrumental as Chi-town phenom (and freestyle series alum) Pugs Atomz rocks the mic, spitting laid-back yet determined rhymes on the topic of living without regrets:  “Don’t wanna look back, like ‘I shoulda went harder’ / Every day tryin’ to think smarter…” It’s not every day you hear a motivational jam this relaxing…. or a vibe-out-track this motivating. If you’re digging it, you can hear plenty more hot beats by Jay Vega, along with rhymes from such Windy City buzzmakers as The Primeridian, Rashid Hadee and Astonish, on the producer’s Summertime Chi compilation mixtape, set to drop “soon.”
