R. Kelly ft. 2 Chainz - My Story

Posted 3 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Nineteen85 & R. Kelly
Album:

On his last two albums, Love Letter and Write Me Back, R. Kelly cast his gaze backward to draw inspiration from old-school soul and R&B. Freshly-released promo single My Story finds the Chi-town representative returning to a more contemporary aural palette as he recounts his journey from rags to riches. A noticeable layer of Auto-Tune coats Kells’ vocals as he revels in the trappings of material success, backed by his and Nineteen85‘s metronomic guitar chords, moody synths and bass-bumping percussion. 2 Chainz complements the headliner’s caked-up verses with a braggadocious middle 16. Scheduled to hit iTunes on Tuesday, this joint is the first “official” single off the veteran singer’s Black Panties album.
