On many a hip-hop song the words “we got one” have been emphatically proclaimed, but the end result is sometimes less than desirable. For instance, Booth fave Rapsody‘s latest single NonFiction beings with a bold “Yo 9th Wonder, we got one.” Fortunately, the record is a dope combination of upbeat R&B courtesy of crooner Raheem DeVaughn and notable lyricism by the emcee herself and TDE emcee Ab-Soul. Famed producer and label boss 9th Wonder handles the musical backdrop on NonFiction, masterfully blending bells, drum kicks, and scratches. Rapsody handles two solid verses, while Ab-Soul to concludes the song with his signature lyrical stylings. Lookout for Rapsody’s formal debut album The Idea Of Beautiful, set to drop on August 28 via Jamla Records, but in the meantime her The Black Mamba project is still available for stream and purchase.
