DJBooth Freestyle Series (#2)

Oft imitated but never equaled, the DJBooth Freestyle Series ran from February 2009 through June 2011. Its 250 total entries came courtesy of a veritable who’s-who of underground and emerging emcees, including rising stars like Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller. Last week, we kicked off the series’ second chapter with Dark Horse Rising, a reader-acclaimed contribution from ANTHM. The latest entry in the series comes courtesy of Jersey-born, Philly-based buzzmaker Rich Quick. On The Foundation, STRESS‘s piano-loop/vocoder boardwork sets the stage for bars packed with witty, irreverent commentary on the hip-hop game. Rich has yet to unveil the next item on his agenda, but fans can still stream his last project, August’s Sad Songz EP, for free in the Booth.
