Units In Da City

The founder of D4L (the Laffy Taffy guys), Shawty Lo, hopes to bring his group’s movement back into the spotlight with his solo debut, Units in the City.  The first single from the album, Dey Know, contains everything you would expect from a D4L release: a simply phrased hook, rhyme skills that, to say the least, have vast room for improvement, and a catchy beat to which you can easily dance.  Shawty Lo is going to have to bring a little bit more variety in order to get D4L back on the map; however anyone who samples Edwin Starr’s famous hit, War, gets immediate style points.
