Sketch ft. Illa Ghee - Trouble Comin’

Posted 6 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Kevlar
Album:
Ill

Way, way back in April of ‘08, underground up-and-comer Sketch introduced himself to Booth with a reggae-influenced track titled Hi Hata (coincidentally, it was just five days after we featured Maino‘s similar-in-name-only single). If you thought the Virginia native was a problem 20 months ago, brace yourself. On his latest single, Sketch sets out to separate the fighters from the, um, flight-ers, posing the rhetorical question “What you gonna do when you see Trouble Comin’? Are you gonna stay in your place or start runnin’?” Even those who fall into the less courageous camp will want to swallow their fear and listen all the way through. Producer Kevlar‘s tense, sampled boardwork and Sketch’s reflective rhymes go together like peanut butter and chocolate, and Brooklyn rapper Illa Ghee‘s street-certified guest bars (“I’m a ghetto pilot, and the hood is the cockpit.”) are equally impressive. If you like what you’re hearing, grab a copy of Sketch’s aptly-named Ill LP when it hits store shelves and online retailers next Tuesday, December 15.
