Snoop Lion and Snoop Dogg have very different outlooks on the world, but all of Calvin Broadus’s personae have at least one thing in common: they like to “Smoke the Weed every day.” The latest single off debut set Reincarnated, now a Grammy nominee for Best Reggae Album, finds Snoop’s leonine side passing down some pearls of wisdom to the younger generation—from the practical (Separate out the seeds before you light up.) to the moral and philosophical (“Take care of mother earth, cause’a she be the planet.”). On the back, dancehall mainstay Collie Buddz jumps on Supa Dups, Major Lazer and Jus Bus‘s blunted boardwork to remind us that “Weed is life, weed is reality.John Mazyck directs the official video, which doubles as an infomercial for Snoop’s G Pen vaporizer. For this cut and much more, cop the aforementioned LP, released to record stores and online retailers in April of 2013.
