Dear Friends, Vol. III

Regular readers know that I have a propensity towards obscenity, so handing me a song titled This S**t is a pretty f**king solid guarantee that most of this write-up will be scattered with asterisks. F**k it, sometimes you just have to let it fly. Previously heard as a guest on tracks for Grynch and Rockwell Powers, This Sh*t marks the WA natives’s DJBooth debut as a Solo artist and, bad puns aside, it’s certainly a memorable introduction. DJ Jacks Green sets the pace for a laid back, chill out by the pool summer anthem that drives a simple guitar line with bouncing drums while Sol exhibits some lyrical gymnastics, managing to seamlessly transition from zombie references to some pu**y and ba**s related lines that are as relatable as they are hilarious. Sol himself advises that this song is meant to be played at high volume, preferably while outside barbecuing or driving with the windows down and personally I couldn’t f**king agree more. Looking for more dope sh*t from Sol? Then keep an eye out for his Dear Friends, Vol. III EP, dropping on July 19.
