Talib Kweli ft. Black Thought & Ab-Soul - Congregation

Posted 3 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
J Rhodes
Album:

Can I get a ‘Church!’ from the Congregation?” Fresh off unleashing his latest street album upon the ‘net, Talib Kweli has donned his Sunday best to bring us a standout selection off the project. And, like a true evangelist, he’s brought a couple homies along for the ride; over J. Rhodes’ resonant piano beat, peppered with gospel vocal interjections, the Brooklyn veteran is joined by Roots frontman Black Thought, who spits obliquely about his struggles to make it on the front, and TDE rhymesayer Ab-Soul, who proclaims himself “rap Jehova” on his fiery middle contribution. Kweli gets Biblical on his opponents on verse three, managing to rhyme “dialectic,” “Dianetics” and “diabetics,” without breaking a sweat. Does this lyrically on-point collab have you praising the Lord? More fresh tunes await on the DJ Z-Trip-hosted Attack the Block tape, available now for free streaming and download via The DJBooth.
