Tate Tucker - Go It Alone

Posted 4 years ago

On his second DJBooth feature, California wordsmith Tate Tucker shows that sometimes you just have to Go It Alone. If you haven’t already been clued in by the title of Tate’s latest record, the song does in fact sample Beck’s Go It Alone, which the emcee described to us as being his “favorite Beck song.” On Go It Alone, the Santa Monica native’s witty lyricism blends perfectly with the slightly electro-tinged production, which comes courtesy of producer PD. Since Beck is no longer a stranger to hip-hop, the singer was recently featured on Childish Gambino’s Royalty, Tate’s Beck flip makes for a worthy addition to the growing number of Beck-inspired material we’ve seen flood the Interweb of late. Go It Alone will be featured on Tate’s forthcoming WEST/RIDGE EP, which will be freely released on August 20.
