Diamond District - First Step

Posted 2 years ago
Producer:
Oddisee
Album:

While the individual members have brought us a smattering of solo features in the meantime, it’s been a hot minute since we enjoyed a proper feature from DMV threesome Diamond District. If you’ve been waiting for Oddisee, yU and Uptown XO to rejoin forces ever since Tol’U So hit our front page back in 2011, you’ll be happy to hear that the partners-in-rhyme have a new album in the can. Today they take the First Step toward its release by dropping a lead single. Oddisee handles production duties on this bracing jam, layering synths, string samples and old-school cuts over “neck-snapping drums” as he and his colleagues delivers bars jam-packed with lyrical wisdom. If this hors-d’oeuvre’s whet your appetite for more, then keep it locked to the Booth leading up to the October 14, release of Diamond District’s March on Washington LP.
