The Regiment ft. Kev Brown & Finale - 100

Posted 4 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Soulution
Album:
The Panic Button

Lots of rappers have capitalized on the idea of “keeping it 100,” stringing that statement along with the reason why they’re authentic throughout their raps in order to give hip-hop more truth and reality.  Sometimes they come off street anthems and other times they’re simply rapping about rap, a bone classicists have been grinding their teeth on for years. The Regiment‘s latest single, 100, featuring Kev Brown and Finale is one of those tracks that somehow manages to be both. The flows of everyone involved, including Regiment members OSI and IseQold, clearly shows their respective talents and the production Soulution provides on 100 is everything your standard hip-hop fan would want with its soul music chops and stabs. The talent is by no means in question, and should not be questioned because they’re airtight, but it is worth discussing whether or not hip-hop needs more songs about itself, and to whom should those tracks be doled out to?  Have at it in the comments below. 100 is from The Regiment’s HiPNOTT Records release, The Panic Button, available now digitally and physically.
