YC The Cynic - God Complex

Album:

Missed church this weekend? Not to worry; you’re just in time for YC the Cynic‘s personal worship service, going down right here in The DJBooth. I should mention, though, that the belief system the West Coast rhymesayer espouses on mixtape lead single God Complex is a little… non-traditional. Over a head-noddable, string-laced Frank Duke production, YC invites listeners to kneel down before him and pay tribute: “I can have you feelin’ faithful, I’m your one and only savior / I’m your maker, your creator, I’m your local undertaker.” The artist’s engaging, ever-so-slightly sacrilegious sung-rapped bars receive a trippy visual accompaniment courtesy of Oliver Eid. Fans will be able to find God Complex and many more fresh cuts on YC and Frank Duke’s GNK LP, scheduled to drop digitally in the near future—assuming the emcee is able to avoid divine lightning bolts in the meantime.
