Yonas - Don’t Give a Damn

Producer:
Sean Ross
Album:

When you’ve worked as hard as Yonas to get where you are today, you deserve to cut loose and enjoy yourself for an afternoon. On Don’t Give a Damn, a mixtape cut newly released as a single via the artist’s new 1st Round Records home, he does just that; after shaking his head at the sad state of the world around him ( “Who the hell gonna do the right thing in a world full of trouble? / I feel like I’m surrounded.”), he resolves to set the tough questions aside for the time being and enjoy some (belated) summer fun. Sean Ross handles production duties, backing the artist’s devil-may-care bars with a catchy synth arrangement likely to continue running through your head well after the song’s finished. In Nat Prinzi‘s official visuals, Yonas cuts loose at a pool party so well-stocked with beautiful women that I forgot to wonder how the f**k he was able to rap underwater without drowning. (Talk about breath control.) Originally featured on Booth-hosted street album The Transition, this cut can be purchased now on iTunes via the download link above.
