We all got our shit together, and it is now April the 7th, but as we predicted earlier this week, Kendrick Lamar is making his fans wait one more week for the release of his currently-untitled, fourth full-length album, which is officially due out on Friday, April 14.
Currently available for pre-order on iTunes, the 14-track album boasts production credits from 9th Wonder, The Alchemist, BADBADNOTGOOD, Cardo, DJ Dahi, Mike WiLL Made-It, Sounwave and more, and will include the previously-released single "HUMBLE.," which has racked up an impressive 35 million plays in just seven days.
It should be noted that April 14 is not just Kendrick Lamar album release day but also Good Friday, the day on which the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ is commemorated in the Christian Church. In a February interview, Kendrick called the new album "urgent," adding that it would "speak on God." Given the album's potential underlying religious theme, it's hard to believe the expected release date is a coincidence.
