One week.
That is how long Post Malone gave J. Cole to bask in the spotlight before releasing his sophomore album, beerbongs & bentleys, which, according to HDD, is projected to score the highest first-week debut of 2018, moving a whopping total of 440-460k equivalent album units (of which 155-165k are pure digital sales).

Additionally, the album, which has already been certified Platinum by the RIAA thanks to pre-release singles “rockstar” and “Psycho,” will set the first-week streaming record, with over 400 million streams. The previous record-holder was Drake (385M), who set the mark last March with the release of his project playlist More Life.
Part of that record-breaking opening week stream total is beerbongs & bentleys‘ dominance on Spotify, which broke the streaming service’s first-day record both globally (78,744,748) and in the U.S. (47,930,039).
